What is comma connect?
comma connect is the companion app for your device. It is completely optional to use, but gives you additional functionality such as viewing recorded drives and various remote features. To learn more, read our comma connect article.
How to pair to comma connect
First, you must complete device installation and follow the on-screen prompts on your comma device to connect to Wi-Fi and install openpilot. The setup guide walks through the process.
On a comma four
Press the settings icon on the home screen, then navigate by swiping to the left to get to device settings. Once you are there press on pair to connect and scan the QR code that appears using your phone's camera. This will take you to connect.comma.ai.
If you don't have an account, you will be prompted to create one by signing in with your Google, GitHub, or Apple account. Once you have created an account or logged in, your account will be paired with the device.
By default, you can view the last 3 days of your recorded drives. Upgrade to comma prime to get a full year of drives saved to the cloud.
Make sure your comma device has access to a strong Wi-Fi signal in order to upload your drives. You can also buy comma prime to get 24/7 LTE so your device can upload drives anywhere. Additionally, make sure that your comma power is connected to your car so that the device can upload drives while the car is off and parked.
